Webinar Outline
This webinar will focus on how the British School of Gran Canaria is using Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction to create a shared language to raise standards of teaching and learning in both our primary and secondary schools. I will share the practical steps we have taken to change the culture in our school to all become more reflective, collaborative and driven to improve our daily teaching practice. Key to our approach has been promoting a consistent approach to improving teaching and learning while ensuring teachers have ownership over their professional development. *Whilst we have chosen to use Rosenshine’s principles at our school, other research-informed approaches could be applied in a very similar way.

About Charlotte Brunton
I am now going into my 10th year of teaching English. Three of those years were spent in state schools in the UK, where I had the additional responsibilities of Literacy Coordinator and NQT mentor. I have been teaching in Gran Canaria for almost seven years, working as Head of English for six. This is my second year as Lead Practitioner, aiming to create a shared understanding of excellent teaching and learning across both our primary and secondary schools.
