This short course is designed to give school governors a better understanding of key legislation, guidance and procedures relating to the safety and protection of children. Using International case studies and case reviews this course will give those attending an introduction to harm and abuse, knowledge of key warning signs and offer practical suggestions of how governing bodies provide support to the headteacher to continually improve safeguarding practices across a school.
Course Objectives
- Understanding of the legislation around safeguarding and child protection
- Introduction to harm and abuse and an overview of the warning signs
- Review best practice examples of how governing bodies support their school/s to carry out their safeguarding duties.
