About Us

Veema is all About Progress

Veema is Greek for ‘moving forward’ and that’s what we are all about by helping ensure that the next move our schools take towards academic excellence is the best one.

Our approach is unique

We bring our training programmes to you, tailor them to your precise requirements and leave you with the resources you need to review and extend the learning experience in the months to come.

We provide carefully planned CPD (continuous professional development) programmes — over the course of days, months or terms with intended follow-up support.

  • All our consultants are experts in their fields with specialist training and development knowledge
  • We focus on evidence-informed approaches and practitioner enquiry to bring effective change
  • We take pride in establishing positive working relationships with schools to leave lasting impact

Who we are and what we believe?

Costa Constantinou, a former school leader, founded Veema in 2013, driven by his passionate belief in the transformative power of education to create opportunities. Growing up in a migrant family, Costa embraced the significance of schooling from an early age. Having been deprived of education, his parents instilled a deep appreciation for learning.

Veema’s professional development and school improvement programmes empower teachers and school leaders worldwide, fostering continuous learning for the benefit of their students.

We collaborate with a network of associates, including Headteachers, school leaders, teachers, and educational authors, each an expert in their respective fields. Together, we deliver exceptional school improvement and training services, providing schools with the confidence, guidance and tools to progress.

Founder

Costas Constantinou

Director of Education

Costa is Veema’s driving force and has many years of experience both within the classroom and at leadership level. He understands firsthand the needs and priorities of schools today. He has led national and international keynotes and workshops on improving teaching and learning, school leadership, and implementing and managing effective change.

Costa passionately advocates that professional development is a requisite tool for teachers to engage with pedagogy, offer collaborative working partnerships, challenge and advance existing practice. Taken together, these sharpen our ability to focus on how we teach and how pupils learn — a reflective approach that, at its core, sees learning through the eyes of the learner.

Charity

We at Veema take immense pride in supporting the remarkable work of DementiaUK – a UK-based charity that offers vital support and information to people and families affected by dementia. Established in 1990, the organisation provides various services and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for those living with dementia.

At the core of DementiaUK’s mission are Admiral Nurses – highly skilled specialists who offer practical and emotional support to families dealing with dementia. Working collaboratively with families, these nurses provide expert advice, guidance, and personalised care plans. Through their support, Admiral Nurses empower families to navigate the complexities of dementia, thereby improving the quality of life for people with dementia and their caregivers.

DementiaUK also runs the Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline – a national helpline staffed by Admiral Nurses who provide practical advice, information, and a listening ear to anyone affected by dementia.

Apart from providing direct support services, DementiaUK is committed to raising awareness and promoting understanding of dementia within society. The charity actively engages in education and training initiatives to equip healthcare professionals, social care providers, and others with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver effective dementia care.

Overall, DementiaUK is a charitable organisation that provides essential support, information, and guidance to families affected by dementia. With its team of Admiral Nurses, a national helpline, and commitment to education, DementiaUK plays a crucial role in improving the lives of individuals with dementia and their caregivers while working towards a society better equipped to understand and support those living with this challenging condition.

However, this outstanding work is only possible with the generosity of individuals, communities, and corporate partners to fund its work. Through fundraising events, donations, and partnerships, the organisation continues to expand its services, reach more families affected by dementia, and advocate for improved dementia care policies and resources.

We at Veema are honoured to support this fantastic charity by donating 10% of every training booking made with us to DementiaUK starting from the Autumn term. If you want to contribute to generating vital funds to help this charity, please get in touch with us at info@veema.co.uk. Your support will be highly appreciated!
