The I Do, We Do, You Do approach helps teachers introduce new learning through clear modelling, guided practice and independent application. Teachers first demonstrate a skill and make their thinking explicit, then work through examples with students, using questions and feedback to check understanding. Finally, students apply their learning independently, while the teacher monitors progress and provides support where needed.
This brief postcard shares three simple but highly effective ways to apply the I Do, We Do, You Do approach in your classroom.
