Ideal for new middle school leaders or those looking for a solid foundation course before taking a new specialist NPQs in the near future. As with all our courses, it is evidence-informed and based on the latest leadership research.
This course will help you:
- Develop the qualities of an effective senior leader and show you how to incorporate these into your daily working practice.
- Understand the difference between middle and senior school leadership and equip you to work effectively with other members of your senior team.
- Lead your school out of lockdown in ways that ensure the wellbeing of both staff and pupils.
- Prioritise the needs of staff and support them in their continuous growth through quality feedback, better CPD conversations and coaching programmes that drive change and raise student achievement levels.
- Learn new ways to attract and recruit new staff while retaining those already in post.
- Discover practical strategies for writing and evaluating school SIPs (school Improvement plans) that better meet curriculum needs and embed strong professional standards.
- Use data effectively to create an effective school evaluation process that will evidence progress and best practice to the head and external stakeholders like the board of governors.

About Sharon Hennam-Dale
Leadership Consultant Coach and Facilitator
Sharon is a highly experienced and enthusiastic practitioner possessing excellent skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and leadership strategies, pedagogy and research. She has spent over twenty-four years in education, including thirteen in senior leadership, starting her career as a teacher and progressing to Headship. She has worked in a wide range of schools in different contexts and with colleagues from different stages and phases of education. She is passionate about the professional development of colleagues to build school capacity and sustainable leadership, leading to improved outcomes for learners. Sharon is highly committed to the value of collaboration in enhancing organisational effectiveness and has been a school governor for six years. Since leaving Headship, Sharon works as an educational consultant, leadership facilitator and coach. She has extensive experience in authoring training, designing national training programmes for middle, senior and executive leaders. She is a highly skilled facilitator in the delivery of quality learning experiences for a wide range of staff n leadership and professional skills development. Sharon has a secure grasp of current educational contexts and issues. She has significant experience working in quality assurance and in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of improvement and the principles for judging the quality of standards of schools. She is also a national moderator and accredited assessor for the National Professional Qualifications for Leadership in the UK. As an International Trainer, she has led training for teachers and senior leaders in Africa, Malaysia, Oman, the United States and Pakistan.
